Guide
How it works
Watch the sky, collect what you see, and keep a living record of every pass.
-
Set your Home sky
Save a fixed observation point, usually your house. The server watches that sky even when the tablet is asleep.
-
Watch Sky Now
Live aircraft appear when they enter your watch radius. When one is close enough to spot, it becomes claimable. You can change both distances on Profile.
-
Tap I SEE IT! or I HEARD IT
I SEE IT! puts a full-colour collectible in your Hangar. I HEARD IT logs a blue record in Heard with less XP — and if you get a visual on the same pass or later, tap I SEE IT NOW! to add it to your Hangar in full colour.
-
Missed claimable passes become Ghosts
If an aircraft enters spotting range and slips by unclaimed, it turns greyscale in Ghosts. Flyovers that stay outside spotting range are logged but do not become Ghosts. Hear or see that same aircraft later to unlock it.
-
Home and Out
MySkyDex can track Home and your current location when you are travelling, so you collect on the go and still see what flew over home while you were away.
-
Missions and rarity
Daily and weekly missions keep you coming back. Rarity comes from Passes over you — completed appearances in your Watch or Spot areas. The first pass feels Ultra Rare; familiar visitors settle toward Common. That same count drives the badge, filters, and aircraft detail.
Tips for spotting
- Allow location on Sky Now when you leave home so “Out and about” stays up to date.
- No GPS? Set Home with a UK postcode on Profile.
- Tune watch and spot distances on Profile — tighter spot ranges are easier to claim by eye.
- Wait for the automatic sky update, or tap Near refresh (2×/day) if you hear something overhead before it appears.
- Offline claims queue and sync when you reconnect.
